Dune: Part Three
Showing Dec. 15, 2026 through Jan. 14, 2027
140 minutes
The journey to Arrakis ends in the Omnitheater, bringing Denis Villeneuve’s epic trilogy to a breathtaking conclusion.
Dune: Part Three is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.
All Dune screenings will be shown in IMAX® format, as intended by the film’s director. Director Denis Villeneuve has said the saga was “dreamed, designed and shot” for the format. It’s the first film in the trilogy shot partly with IMAX® Film Cameras, the highest-resolution cameras in the world. It includes 71 minutes of IMAX®’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio, with the image filling the screen from top to bottom, and a sound mix built specifically for IMAX® theaters. Quality assurance agents at IMAX® worked diligently to ensure the film is formatted for the best viewing possible on our 90-foot domed screen.
But this isn’t a typical night at the multiplex. See the film in one of the region’s most distinctive theaters, inside the museum overlooking the Mississippi River. This is the first time in the Omnitheater’s history that the museum has shown first-run Hollywood films. Every ticket purchased generates vital funds for the Science Museum of Minnesota’s mission to empower everyone to see themselves in science. Ticket sales help support exhibits, education programs and community access for visitors of all ages.
Before heading back to the desert, audiences can revisit where it all began. For one weekend only, Friday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 15, the Omnitheater will screen Dune and Dune: Part Two in IMAX®. Each film can be seen on its own or as a back-to-back double feature.
