Maker Fest

June 6 | 11:00 am 3:00 pm

An adult and child work together to drill a hole in a rock at a craft table in the museum's Backyard.

Calling all crafters, makers, and creatives! If you’re more inspired-by than inspiring, you belong here just as much — join us for the first annual Maker Fest!

This new event is a celebration of creativity, innovation, and learning, principles that weave into the STEM work we do every day.

During this event, unravel the art of creating, from the history of the materials we use to the science of set design. Explore hands-on activities, conversations with local makers, and live demonstrations that interweave the scientific and technical aspects of making with artistic and creative inspiration.

Maker Fest programming partners:

  • Sadie Ward
  • Center for People and Craft
  • Free Geek
  • Weavers Guild of Minnesota
  • Three Rivers Fibershed
  • Science Museum of Minnesota Exhibits Department

Ride free to the museum with Metro Transit!
