For as long as humans have dressed, they have used materials and drawn inspiration from the natural world. Early ancestors draped themselves with furs for warmth; we now see floral motifs at Spring/Summer Fashion Week. Across cultures, this deep relationship between nature and personal expression reveals itself in powerful ways — sometimes through appreciation for the materials and traditions that shape identity, and other times through practices that have pushed species to the brink of extinction.

From beadwork to gemstones, feathers to textiles, each item offers a window into human creativity, ingenuity, and our ever-evolving connection to the natural world. Expect to be inspired, and to walk away with a deepened appreciation for how science helps us understand the materials we wear and the histories they carry.
