A message from the President and CEO
Every day at the Science Museum of Minnesota, curiosity sparks in unexpected places — a child’s eyes widening at a fossil discovery, a teacher finding new ways to bring chemistry to life, or a community partner co-creating programs that reflect their unique needs.
Our work reaches far beyond our building on the bluffs of the Mississippi. From educators bringing STEM outreach throughout the state to professional development facilitators transforming organizations, we’re meeting people where they are. We’re listening, learning constantly, and building relationships rooted in trust and shared purpose: creating a world where everyone sees themselves in science.
This report will focus on high-level numbers. Underneath each stat are countless stories of our impact. A single visit to the museum might be the spark that ignites a lifelong curiosity about science. A single school assembly or equity training might be the beginning of a transformative career pathway. A single day out in the field may result in scientific breakthroughs that influence policy at the highest level.
The numbers are important, but we also invite you to dig deeper into their accompanying stories. A selection is linked below, but check back on the Microscope for continual updates all year long.
